Last Friday night saw over 250 people attend the first ever Preshocked to be held at Synergy Youth Centre in Lane Cove. Eight of the finest up and coming bands from the North Shore were competing for a place on the line up at this years Shoreshocked.
With a solid crowd building early, Roan were given the tough task of starting off the night and did a great job with their solid original songs and great vocals.
They were followed by super FLORENCE jam, who returned to Synergy with a rocking set that had the crowd in the palm of their hands and had everyone impressed with their tight performance.
Scathe were next on the bill and bought a harder sound to the gig with impressive riffs and keyboard elements which had the black t-shirt crew up the front and loving it.
The huge crowd were then inspired by None The Wiser and their energetic set that produced a big sound and a big attitude.
Horrific scenario hit the stage and put together a great set with some outstanding original material and another awesome performance from their front man Adam.
The bass slapping and funked up sounds of Epstein followed and had the crowd jumping around and getting into the show as they punched out an impressive set.
That bought ESP to the stage, the youngest group performing on the night. They showed that they are definitely a band to keep an eye on as they thrilled their huge support with a good performance.
To round off the night Lost Threat put in a solid show that had the massive crowd in a sweaty frenzy until the very end of the gig.
Overall the night proved to be a great showcase of young talent emerging from the North Shore and the judges took their time in deliberating on who the final four would be. The lucky bands to be performing alongside Shihad, Grand Fatal and Hell City Glamours at this years Shoreshocked are…….drum roll please…….super FLORENCE jam, None The Wiser, Horrific Scenario and Roan!!
Well done to the four who made it through, and congratulations to all the bands that made a huge effort and contribution in putting on a great show. Thanks also goes out to all the fans who turned up on the night and gave their support!
See you all on April 1st at Shoreshocked !!!
